Djokovic's Sponsor Hublot said vaccination is a personal decision

Novak Djokovic's one of the main sponsors appears to have backed the tennis star; with watchmaker Hublot saying getting vaccination is a personal decision.

Djokovic's sponsors are struggling after his eviction from Australia, and some of the biggest brands in the world are planning to work with unvaccinated world No.1 players.

But after Monday's statement, it appeared Hublot would be on Djokovic's side.

Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadeloupe said the brand, managed by French luxury group LVMH, is looking forward to hearing from Djokovic.

He told Reuters that, we are waiting to see where he stands on what he's been through.

"The principle of a vaccine is that it is private. We value individual freedom.

Everyone can decide. Can be supported or rejected. That is our position.

The Djokovic story has presented sponsors with a major dilemma, who must balance respecting the individual freedom of athletes and keeping pace with public sentiment.

Guadalupe said he believes Djokovic will make a statement at the end of the Australian Open, which ends on January 30.
"We will then determine our position," he said.

Hublot has also sponsored sports superstars including Pele, Kylian Mbappe, and Usain Bolt, and signed "living legend" Djokovic last August.

Djokovic earned $30 million (A$42 million) from sponsorship deals last year, according to Forbes.
