Since its inception in 1987, it is an international level WTA Tour tournament, which is planned for May, and it will play before the French Open 2024, which will begin from 26 May to 09 Jun 2024.

The competition was held in Hautepierre and then moved in 2011 to the tennis club in Strasbourg. The past winners included in this competition are Jennifer Capriati, Maria Sharapova, Lindsay Davenport, Steffi Graf, Ashleigh Barty, and Martina Navratilova. The most recent champion Dayana Yastremska won this competition in three sets from Caroline Garcia.
