The world's top female tennis players will go to The Land to participate in the first Cleveland Championship, a WTA 250 event that will be held at the Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica from August 21 to 27, 2022. As part of the high-status U.S. Open series, this one-week tournament marks one of the major women's sports events in Northeast Ohio. It will connect Cleveland to the highest level of the sport each year.

President and CEO of Greater Cleveland Sports Commission David Gilbert said, our society is prepared to greet the annual WTA 250 event to The Land. The Flats West Bank will present our skyline and offer beautiful scenery, as more than 60 million households in the United States and past watch the top athletes' actions. The direct spending, Youth, and program work estimated amount is $2 million. This competition will leave a lasting legacy in our community.
