The Wuhan Open 2024 is a women’s tennis event called the Dongfeng Voyah Wuhan Open because of the sponsorship. It is the 7th edition of the Wuhan Open and part of the WTA 1000 category on the WTA Tour 2024. Following the China Open in Beijing, this is the second 1000 tournament in Asia on the WTA Tour.
The 2024 tournament will play on the outdoor hard court at Optics Valley International Tennis Center in Wuhan from October 7-10, 2024.
In 2014, the Wuhan Open was first played, and the winner was the two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova. In 2016, the Czech won the event title for the 2nd time, and in 2018 and 2019, the US Open champion won this tournament back to back. Other former winners were Caroline Garcia and Venus Williams. The event was not played in 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
